We should be terrified. Trump’s abuse of immigrants as “gang members” is a passive way of convincing people that deportation or imprisonment isn’t just for demonized immigrants. The Japanese in WW II were transported openly on school buses. They were taken to “detention camps” across the U.S. Some were citizens. Whole families had to gather, abandon their houses, walk away from their farms, and leave their businesses like they were going home for the night.
Why were they taken to rough wood buildings with minimal amenities? Because of ignorant white Americans. Newspapers had bold headlines, “The “Japs” on their Way to Camps”. Even cartoons depicted ”fierce” Japanese men with rifles. Racism was rampant. Neighbors and others broke into the abandoned homes and businesses and took what they wanted. Farmers just started using their neighbors' fields.
Imprisoning dissenters, enemies of the state, and agitators is chapter 2 of the authoritarian playbook, with such evil, depraved, and without any empathy. The hysteria was all a justification. Many Japanese families had sons who joined the war in force.
And our finest president issued the order.
Suppose that sinful disrespect could be easily carried out. What is to stop the Trump administration with Nazi-loving Stephen Miller and others who follow their Lord (who demands fighting for him and punishing disbelievers). I believe that many Republicans believe they and their families are in danger. That’s the fear.
As the old saying goes, “If they don’t obey, lock ‘em up.”
The chaos is so blinding and loud that it is hard to see the next step.
Today's fascists are using subtler tactics than their forbears, but equally effective. Where German Nazi Brownshirts raided opposition newspaper offices, wrecking equipment and beating up workers, today's fascists sue some big media outlets and next thing you know, all the rest are scared and pulling their editorial punches. Or they sue big law firms that represented opposition clients and all of a sudden nobody wants to hire those firms and the other lawyers are scared to take clients on the White House hit list. This time around, Trump has surrounded himself with clever loyalists who know how to work the levers of power and play the angles to achieve their goals without torching the Reichstag.
President Trump murdered the Rule of Law. The Supreme Court says that he has total immunity because it was an official act. God considered intervening, but was chased away by Pam Bondi and Kash Patel.
The rule of law doesn't apply to the rule of the king and his minions.
Let's hope the anonymous E.R. doctor makes sure he doesn't revive the patient next time!!
I heard they forced the entire Law Family to sign an NDA and placed a DNR on Rule himself, poor bastard. Thoughts and prayers.

Omnipotence ain't what it used to be.
Added to my misheberach list!
The way things are going that's gonna be a long list.
I am sorry to inform you but the spirit has left the body of law to a criminal mind.
Almost works!
